Medical Group is Singapore's first locally established healthcare
corporation providing an integrated range of Western and Chinese
medical care and facilities.
The Group's first western medical clinic - East Coast Medical Centre
- was established in 1977. Five years later, ECM Healthcare was
created to ensure the consistent supply of medical and health care
products from leading international and pharmaceutical organisations.
In view of the rapid ageing of Singapore's population, the directors
of ECM Medical Group decided to incorporate the East Coast Medicare
Centre Pte. Ltd. in 1993. The objective then and now is to provide
high quality in-patient medical care and treatment for the elderly
and sufferers of chronic diseases.
To provide further nursing and healthcare knowledge to the public,
ECM Educare Centre was then setup in 1998.
Between 1995 and 1999, the directors of ECM Medical Group invested
considerable time visiting the major universities and teaching hospitals
of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) in China and Taiwan. After
much discussion and deliberation, the Group jointly established
in July 2000 the ECM Chinese Medical Centre in Singapore with the
two renowned medical establishments form China and Taiwan.
In fact, the ECM Chinese Medical Centre has achieved a milestone
in the history of traditional Chinese medicine. Strategically located
in Singapore's Chinatown Conservation Area, the traditional home
of Chinese culture, it provides first-rate medical services from
Wanjing Hospital - a teaching hospital of the China Academy of Traditional
Chinese Medicine (Beijing) - and a full range of GMP standard concentrated
powdered Chinese herbal medicines from Chuang Song Zong Pharmaceutical
Co Pte Ltd (Taiwan)
Other than providing medical services, ECM/CMC is also very active
in the dissemination of relevant information to the public via regular
seminars, talks and articles on national TV, radio, newspapers and
medical journals etc.

accreditation
In 2001, ECM Medical Group applied to SPRING Singapore (formerly
the Productivity and Standards Board) to support the development
of a unique healthcare franchise system.
In the following year, ECMMG again made history to be the first
local medical company to successfully develop a "Traditional
Chinese Medicine & TCM Cosmetic Medicine Franchise System"
fully supported by SPRING Singapore.
Overview
ECM Medical Group is a multi-dimensional medical organisation providing
comprehensive services in both the Western and Chinese medicines,
acupuncture, therapeutic massage and various health care products
that can provides relief or ease the pain of the patients. ECM believes
in the selective adoption of any treatment system, whether Western
or Chinese, to help and provide comfort for patients.
